Dubai has taken another step toward its ambition of becoming the most refined and world-class city with the launch of a Civility Committee, following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The initiative was officially announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, through his social media platforms.
A Vision for Global Excellence
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that Sheikh Mohammed’s vision is uncompromising:
“Dubai must be the best, the most beautiful, the most refined, and the most civilised city in the world.”
The Civility Committee has been tasked with bringing this vision to life by ensuring Dubai continues to embody progress, values, and human dignity in every aspect of urban life.
Leadership Team of the Committee
The newly established committee will be chaired by Mohammed Al Gergawi, with Mattar Al Tayer serving as Deputy Chair. Other key members include:
Abdulla Al Basti
Omar Al Olama
Abdullah Al Marri
Helal Al Marri
Marwan bin Ghalita
Together, they will work on initiatives that strengthen Dubai’s global reputation as a hub of refinement, innovation, and cultural excellence.
Commitment to a Civilised Future
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the clarity of the mandate:
“Our mandate is clear: to present to the world the most refined modern-day experience — a living model of progress, values, and human dignity.”
With this step, Dubai reinforces its standing as a city that not only leads in innovation and development but also sets benchmarks in culture, civility, and human values.
