Dubai is taking a bold step toward a sustainable and people-centric future with the launch of its Future Loop project — a 2km elevated, air-conditioned pedestrian pathway linking some of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Part of the Dubai Walk Master Plan, the Future Loop aims to redefine urban mobility by making walking and cycling as convenient as driving. The project will connect major business and cultural hubs including the Museum of the Future, Dubai World Trade Centre, Emirates Towers, and Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
A New Standard for Urban Connectivity

Launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on December 7, 2024, the Dubai Walk Master Plan envisions 6,500km of interconnected walkways across 160 areas of the city by 2040. This includes 3,300km of new walkways, 2,300km of upgraded ones, and over 110 pedestrian bridges and underpasses — all designed to make Dubai a truly walkable city.

The Future Loop will feature 30,000 square metres of climate-controlled space, ensuring year-round comfort for pedestrians. Another 30,000 square metres will be dedicated to shaded green zones that reduce heat and promote sustainability.
More Than Just a Walkway

The project isn’t just an architectural showpiece. The Future Loop will directly integrate with metro and tram stations, cycling tracks, and Dubai’s future transport network, supporting the city’s 20-Minute City goal — ensuring 80% of residents can reach key services within 20 minutes.
Its design — blending innovation, sustainability, and futuristic aesthetics — will transform how people move between Dubai’s major economic centers.
Driving Quality of Life

Aligned with the Quality of Life Strategy 2033, the Future Loop underscores Dubai’s focus on creating safe, accessible, and enjoyable pedestrian environments. It also fosters collaboration between the public and private sectors to deliver next-generation infrastructure that enhances community wellbeing.
Projects linked to the Future Loop are already in progress. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, recently reviewed ongoing infrastructure developments — with the Future Loop named among the emirate’s priority initiatives.
As Dubai continues to set benchmarks in smart urban planning, the Future Loop stands as a testament to its mission: a city built for people, powered by innovation.
