Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has approved a major housing initiative to develop more than 17,000 affordable homes across six areas in the city. The project is part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, aimed at creating a more inclusive and vibrant community.
Sheikh Hamdan chaired a meeting of The Executive Council of Dubai on March 12, where he approved land allocation for affordable housing, alongside policies to enhance education and support independent legal professionals.
Affordable Housing Initiative
1.46 million square metres of land will be allocated for 17,080 residential units.
The initiative aims to provide quality housing for skilled professionals and middle-income residents.
The first phase will include six locations: Al Mueisim 1, Al Twar 1, Al Qusais Industrial 5, and Al Leyan 1.
The homes will be offered at affordable rental rates with access to essential services and infrastructure.
The project will be managed by the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning and implemented by key government entities, including the Dubai Land Department and Dubai Municipality.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that Dubai is a city for everyone, committed to offering diverse housing options for all income groups.
New Education Policy for Private Schools
Aims to improve Arabic language and Islamic studies in private schools.
Supports Dubai’s goal of becoming one of the top 10 cities for education quality.
Focuses on better teaching methods from early childhood to pre-primary levels.
Increases the number of Emirati teachers in core subjects.
Introduces the Dubai Protocol for Curriculum Enhancement and the Emirati Teacher Recruitment and Training Programme.
Enhances collaboration between teachers and parents to strengthen cultural and national identity.
Overseen by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
Independent Legal Consultant Project
Allows Emirati legal professionals to work as independent legal consultants without establishing law firms.
Covers real estate and personal status law during the pilot phase.
Open to Emiratis, including academics, retirees, and remote workers.
Applicants need at least two years of legal experience, must pass an assessment, and complete training.
The one-year pilot will be managed by the Legal Affairs Department of the Government of Dubai.
